The Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society is a member of The Fraternal Order of Police. The BPDBS is lodge #82 of the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police.

As a member of the FOP we participate in many different events to benefit the community and our fellow police officers throughout the commonwealth. The Fraternal Order of Police is a growing organization that has traditionally supported police officers with legal defense funding and life insurance benefits. Although none of us ever want to use these benefits, we all agree that there is a certain piece of mind that comes with knowing your family will be secure should you be charged with a crime or killed while doing your job. The Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society did due dilligence before joining the FOP. We believe this organization has a great future and we believe that our members will greatly enhance the organization to the benefit of all.

Recently The Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police elected Miller Thomas as Treasurer. As President and former Treasurer of BPDBS Miller brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the MassFOP.
